Welcome to the world, Emmett David! I was lucky to be able to spend Emmett’s first weekend home with him and his family. He had a grand entry into this world spending his first few days of life in the NICU due to fluid in his lungs and with a miracle that could only seem to be God’s doing, he was cleared to come home at 4-days-old. His family is filled with love, laughter, and more talent in their pinky fingers than most people have as a whole. His big sister Rylee is ready to show this little man the ropes as are an army of people who love and support this little family from all around the world. I am lucky enough to call his mom and dad two of my very best friends and was blessed to have the opportunity to caputure them as they celebrated Emmett on his 1-week birthday.
This has been the quickest year of my life! We celebrated Dixie Pearl this past weekend with a DIY pink and gold birthday party. You only turn ONE once and as they say, “Let them eat cake” and she did just that as us mommy’s drank! The clouds parted, the sun made an appearance and with a house full of Dixie’s aunties, uncles, cousins, and more, we celebrated this amazing girl and her first year on earth.
I had an amazing afternoon with these two! Their playfulness and love for one another made this session really special. You know you’ve captured something special when you look back at the photos and smile.
One of the joys in my life is being a new mom and with that luck I get the joy of doing all of the fun things that I got to experence as a child. We took Dixie Pearl and our new puppy Chester to the pumpkin patch across the street from our house to pick out our family pumpkin. Dixie Pearl loved the pumpkins so much, she spent her time kissing them to show her affection. Stepping back and looking at our beautiful surroundings reminded me why we chose to move back to Washington. The best part of the day was coming back home and seeing fall all around our house. We lucked out.
What a privilege to be a part of Asia and Chris’s wedding. The ceremony was held in the beautiful St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Seattle, WA. We then headed over to Within Sodo to party the night away on the rooftop. With the night air filled with laughter, love, and great music, it was hard not to join in with all of the amazing dancing!
